Robert Half Assistant Controller in Towson, Maryland
Description
We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our team located in Towson, Maryland. This role will focus on the corporate finance side of our business and will provide a unique opportunity to learn directly from the Corporate Controller and CFO. The Assistant Controller will have exposure to different environments and various responsibilities, making this position ideal for someone flexible and adaptable.
Responsibilities:
• Play an instrumental role in Year-End Close operations
• Oversee the Audit Prep and remediation process
• Handle tasks related to Taxation and Budgeting
• Manage Depreciation activities within the company
• Participate in Mergers and Acquisitions activities
• Work on projects involving other organizations under the corporate umbrella
• Draw on skills in Audit, Federal Taxes, CaseWare, Sage Accounting Software, and Mergers & Acquisitions to perform duties effectively
• Maintain an adaptable approach to managing different disciplines within the business.

Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role such as Assistant Controller
• Proven expertise in Audit, preferably at a mid-sized CPA firm
• Proficiency in dealing with Federal and State Taxes at a mid-sized CPA firm
• Experience with CaseWare is necessary
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software is essential
• Familiarity with Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A) is required
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is desired
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of professionalism and integrity
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
