The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the grounds and grounds construction activities. The position is responsible for ensuring that the grounds are well-kept through every season and have appropriate seasonal plants and decorations. The Groundskeeper is responsible for ensuring that the first look at the community shows a pleasant and well-kept environment. *Essential Functions Completes a variety of groundskeeping tasks, such as maintenance of shrubs, trees, lawns, planting areas, sprinkler systems, area watering, snow removal, ice removal efficiently and effectively to ensure the community is meeting expected standards. Collaborates with other departments to ensure a clean and safe environment. Operates and maintains appropriate equipment for all tasks performed. Performs additional tasks as needed within the community, such as installing and removing signs, parking and traffic control barriers, and overhead banners, as required. Proactively identifies and engages with residents, families and guests, positively contributing to the overall resident and customer experience. Initiates communication to report concerns, suggestion the appropriate department or leader. Qualifications* Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: Current Driver's License Experience: One year of grounds maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education. Knowledge: Knowledge of equipment, tools, and procedures of grounds construction and care. Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening. Skills: Skill in operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment and tools. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in coordinating the work activities of self and others. Skill in time management.
