Location: Maryland, Suitland
Provide support to the Naval Research Lab’s Plasma Physics/Pulsed Power laboratory. Maintains and operates pulsed power generators as well as fabricates, assembles and mounts experimental apparatus on equipment such as pulse power generators. Maintains large vacuum systems and uses familiarity with high voltage capacitor systems.
Performs mechanical fabrication and maintenance utilizing power and hand tools.
Fabricates components with tools such as water jets, 3D printers, lasers or CNC routers
Assembles wire harnesses and battery banks
Provides logistical support including transportation coordination, pickup and delivery services
Modifies, maintains and repairs facilities
Active DoD Secret clearance
15+ years of experience in all of the areas described above, including operation and maintenance of pulsed power generators and fabricating, assembling and mounting experimental apparatus
Experience determining supply requirements, ordering, picking up materials required for efficient performance of work
Experience managing junior staff in the performance of their duties
Machine Shop experience, including machine tool operation
