Timbrook Service Technician in Oakland, Maryland

A Service Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles.

Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform work outlined on repair orders prepared by the Service Advisor in an efficient and accurate manner -- adhering to our dealership standards and procedures
  • Keep the Service Advisor informed of the repair order's status and the estimated time for its completion so that customers can be informed
  • Perform repair, maintenance, and warranty work in a timely fashion. Roadtest to confirm problems were resolved and the vehicle's operation will meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure customer's vehicle is left in a clean and un-damaged state
  • Maintain an organized and neat workstation
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast of rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Maintain value, quality, and integrity

General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 2-4 years technician experience/training
  • ASE certification preferred
  • Basic computer and phone skills (Internet, MS Outlook)
  • Experience with automotive software preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50-75 lbs.
  • Current, valid drivers license required

Working Conditions

The employee will work indoors and outdoors in an auto shop environment.
