Advanced Mission Partners a subsidiary of Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI), voted one the DC area's Best Places to Work, is seeking a Buyer to join our team at our manufacturing facility located in Linthicum, MD. This position provides mid-level procurement activity support and requires procurement experience in a wide-range of items such as IT, vehicles, test equipment, corporate and business development items, furniture, space and flight related hardware, as well as electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts, materials, services, and equipment.

Duties for this position include: source and purchase electronic, electrical, and electromechanical (EEE) components required for various projects and operations from approved suppliers; evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance; Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible cost savings; monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstocking; coordinate with engineering and production teams to understand component requirements; track and manage orders to ensure timely delivery; maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory; resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers; stay updated on market trends and advancements in EEE components; collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices; and ensuring proper compliance with company procurement policies and procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Public Laws and other supplemental regulations.

This position requires US Citizenship.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years professional relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Strong Knowledge of electronic, electrical and electromechanical components

• Willingness to learn Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

• Familiarity with Representations & Certifications, SAM.gov debarment list

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience using Deltek Costpoint preferred, but not required

• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certificate or similar certificate preferred

• Active membership in a professional organization related to the procurement field preferred
