Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc. is looking for Facilities Manager to oversee the facility maintenance department for a 68,000 sq. ft. building consisting of a mix of research & development, manufacturing, testing, laboratory, and office space our at our Hunt Valley, Maryland location. What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for major equipment operation and maintenance including electrical, mechanical, and safety infrastructure. Examples include chillers, compressors, HVAC, etc.

  • Responsible for building and grounds maintenance

  • Coordinate a preventative maintenance program to cover all facility and operations equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with customer, corporate, and government requirements related to facility operation and infrastructure.

  • Proactively recommend capital improvements needed to the facility, obtain estimates, and prepare proposals.

  • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering teams on new equipment installation and commissioning

  • Schedule and plan maintenance and building repairs by coordinating activities with outside service providers.

  • Manage and review service contracts such as cleaning, storage, first aid supplies, uniforms, etc. to ensure facility needs are being met.

  • Develop relationships with alternative service providers to provide options when critical services are required.

  • Successfully address facility emergencies as they arise by assessing the situation, communicating options, and implementing solutions in a timely manner to avoid downtime in manufacturing operations.

  • Serves as liaison with landlord on facility-related maintenance issues or improvements.

  • Advise management team on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operating the facility.

  • Recommend and implement cost-savings initiatives across the department.

  • Supervise facility maintenance technician - responsibilities include prioritize work assignments, provide technical guidance and decisions for facility and equipment issues, performance management, staff development.

  • Plan and track Facilities department overhead budget

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude to assist in troubleshooting and repair of the extensive facility system equipment including chillers, HVAC equipment, compressors, etc.

  • Position is a “Hands-On” role. Candidate should have the mechanical background to not only direct the situation but be able to physically step in and assist when necessary.

  • 3-5+ years of supervisory experience

  • 8+ years of Facility Maintenance experience

Physical Requirements of Position:

  • Able to lift up to 50 Lbs. with or without assistance

  • Hold arms above head or at varying angles for extended periods of time to replace light fixtures, paint walls, fix equipment, etc.

  • Crouch, kneel, squat to complete work

  • Push / Pull items of varying weight and size

  • Work at Heights to 25+ feet

  • Comfortable with heights and working on building rooftop

  • Safely work at varying heights on ladders and lifts

  • Successfully Operate Equipment – Scissor lift, forklift etc.
