Description:
Come join a dynamic, fast-paced watch center supporting 24x7 operations. In this mission-essential help desk role, you will maintain the customer’s computers and networks, ensuring front-end systems continue to collect, process and transmit information vital to national decision makers and keeping our troops safe.
The contract has a current opening for a Level 2 Systems Engineer. You will provide support to optimize and maintain assigned customer accesses.
The technology focus will be data and voice communications, including DNR (voice/FAX), DNI and other advanced technologies over IP.
The candidate must be available to support a 24x7 mission operation with a weekly schedule, working either Day Shift (0545-1345), Swing Shift (1345-2145), or Mid Shift (2145-0545) to include weekends and holidays
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience using the Linux operating system, to include use of the command-line
Basic troubleshooting experience
Ability to follow basic SOPs and update documentation accordingly
Education:
- Seven (7) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree
Desired Skills:
Scripting experience (Bash, Shell and/or Python)
Front-end collection systems, to include survey systems
DNR/DNI collection and dataflow, including FOP configuration
Familiarity with Apache NiFi
Familiarity with commercial SATCOM technologies
Basic knowledge of network protocols
