Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. 161.1 - Full Stack Software Engineer in Columbia, Maryland

The existing application is portal-driven with JSF front-end, Restful, and Messaging. The new application (POC) will be designed based on AngularJS, Restful, Microservices, and Postgres backend and built in the Cloud.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software enhancements using a Java EE framework.
  • Evaluate and conduct proof of concepts with new technology tools and techniques.
  • Work with Configuration management to maintain a version of the software using versioning tools such as BitBucket/GitHub, and prepare and deploy software packages.
  • Understand business and application requirements and develop and maintain software to support those requirements.
  • Work with external partners, manage and resolve issues/incidents.
  • Participate in team problem-solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
  • Effectively communicate with business and technology partners, peers, and stakeholders
  • Understand the existing PROD system and manage and support in case of PROD issues

``` - Six (6+) years of Java/Java EE Software Development experience - Hands-on experience designing and developing front-end and back-end solutions - Experience with AngularJS, Restful, Microservices, and PostgreSQL backend - Experience with JMS or web services - Experience with design and architecture - Experience with various frameworks and servers - Analytical problem-solving skills - Experience in a high transactional environment

Education:

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Certifications:

  • Active AWS Certifications - considered a Plus!

General:

  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client.
  • Capacity to handle uncertainty and adapt to frequent shifts in priorities.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional technical writing abilities and demonstrated expertise in managing systems with intricate demands.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively in achieving project goals.
  • A knowledge of the system development lifecycle, particularly its implementation with Agile methodology, would be beneficial. Familiarity with SAFe would also be advantageous.

Important Information about this job:

  • U.S. citizen or Authorized to work and lived continuously in the U.S. for three (3) of the last five (5) years.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust background investigation.
  • This job is NOT eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is HYBRID 3 DAYS ONSITE (TUESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY) IN COLUMBIA, MD AND 2 DAYS REMOTE A WEEK. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL REMOTE SCHEDULE.
