Position Summary:

Reporting to the Systems Support Manager, the Senior Programmer Analyst will participate in the creation, implementation, maintenance, performance, production support and documentation of various departmental and enterprise-wide application systems. This includes but is not limited to the installation, modification, and testing of new and/or upgraded applications (packages or home grown), operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, and productivity tools. Apply analysis techniques and procedures to gather and then translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs. Using functional specifications and designs produce all or part of the deliverables. Maintain databases and application system code.

Education:

Required: Associates Degree, or 5 years of direct system experience in a revenue cycle business office beyond the work experience requirement.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.

Skills:

  • Gather system requirements by meeting with clients and researching existing technology to understand the business requirements for new applications

  • Experience with developing detailed tasks by analyzing project scope and milestones for projects in order to ensure product is delivered in a timely fashion according to software lifecycle standards

  • Experience with developing/changing data input, files/database structures, data transformation, algorithms, data output by using appropriate computer language/tools to provide technical solution for application development task

  • Thorough ability test all changes by using the appropriate test scenarios to ensure all delivered solutions work as expected and errors are handed in a meaningful way

  • Advanced ability to create and document test scenarios using the appropriate test tools to validate and verify application functionality

  • Analyze issues to determine root cause(s) – requires interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, management, and outside vendors

  • Provide pertinent analysis and recommendations to customers, including senior management

  • Create test plans and cases independently, as well as by utilizing other resources

  • Lead development projects – providing feedback to management on technical performance of analysts

  • Manage significant project from start to finish, including delegating tasks and coordinating with associated areas

  • Critical thinker able to consider the entire picture to effectively evaluate and resolve technical and procedural problems

Required Licensure Certification, etc.

  • Epic Certification in assigned application/field as required by manager

  • May be required to obtain additional certification(s) to complete assigned tasks

Work Experience:

  • Three (3) years of related work experience with computer systems and applications

  • One (1) year Healthcare revenue cycle experience

  • Epic is a plus

Day Shift, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Pay Grade: I7
