This is an MTA position specific recruitment for a generic job classification. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used under TSHRS to fill this MTA position or function only. You will need to reapply for any future recruitment conducted for this Job classification.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Real Property Supervisor. The position is for a supervisory and administrative level professional with experience and educational background in real property acquisition, disposition, appraisals, legal/paralegal services, or property/asset management for MTA owned and leased properties involving Baltimore Metro, Light Rail, Statewide Commuter Bus, Baltimore Core Bus, MARC, Freight Rall Services and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects. The Real Property Supervisor works closely with the Deputy Director in the formulation and implementation of office goals, objectives. policies, and recommends and provides professional development training. Specific functions of this position include the supervision and management of staff support consultant service contracts including billings, invoices and payments for property acquisition/management. This position manages all aspects of appraisals, project and contract negotiations, relocation assistance, property management, settlements, project budgets, fund development, residential and commercial relocations and property/lease operations.

This position requires a detail-oriented self-starter who can make public presentations; prepare reports and briefings; plan, organize, coordinate real estate projects including preparing agreements, leases and easements; real property clearances, deeds, memorandums. Board of Public Works documents and the review of plans, plats, and maps. This position may also supervise, assign and review the work of Real Property Specialists as well as administrative staff while serving as team

leader or project manager. Employees at this level receive general supervision from the Deputy Director/Director. Wor,ks performed In an office and in the field sometimes

requiring personal protective equipment and Railroad Worker Protection certification.

Qualifications

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Seven years of experience providing acquisition, relocation assistance, or property/asset management services, including one year as a project manager, or lead worker or one year of appraisal review experience.

Note:

  1. Additional experience in professional or technical real estate work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required Bachelor's degree for up to four years.

  2. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses & Certifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
