Job Description

Responsible for a wide variety of technical aspects regarding the design, use, and maintenance of complex digital data acquisition systems, and the supporting analog and digital instrumentation devices that support them. Duties and Responsibilities * Performs routine and non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, typically parts of broader assignments, which may involve unusual instrumentation design or application issues. * Uses critical thinking and scientific methods to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions with data acquisition systems and applied instrumentation. * Conducts various tests or experiments, which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures, as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment. * Records data, measures and documents problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyzes data and prepares test reports. * Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeks solutions to clarify information. * Applies methods to limited segments of research and development projects. * Constructs experimental or prototype instrumentation applications to meet engineering requirements, then conducts tests or experiments and redesigns those models as necessary. * Possesses good communication skills, and interacts with internal (i.e. field engineers, test officers, supervisors, etc.) and external (field service representatives, project managers, headquarters personnel, etc.) customers to ensure smooth test conduct and that test expectations are met.* Recognizes inefficient or unsafe test practices and corrects them.* Performs inventory management and prepares supply requests.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $50.58/hr Required Skills and Qualifications* 5 yr. of applicable experience; or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree and 3 yr. of applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yr. of applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 3 yr. of applicable experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 yr. of applicable experience.* Shall possess an Ammunition Certification Level I in accordance with ATC Regulation 350-8 within 6 months of employment. Physical QualificationsThe work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and sometimes in the field where you are subject to the environment. Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.* Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests. * Must be able to successfully complete a background check. * Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to eployment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
