Title:

Senior Systems Engineer

Note: This position is contingent upon funding.

KBR is currently recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics – Army (PM IS&A).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provides systems and software engineering support with an emphasis on the engineering skills and knowledge required to assess, and analyze large, complex systems and their integration into future Army strategic or tactical systems.

  • Provides software engineering support to PM IS&A for the full software life cycle of a product line.

  • Author and synchronizes software processes, policies, and methodologies across Systems Engineering IPT and ensure compatibility with System of System level guidance.

  • Coordinate and synchronizes software and hardware requirements and architecture between the developers and System of Systems products for DCGS-A and other systems as directed.

  • Supports the requirements analysis/definition, design, implementation, integration, and verification of the interoperability interfaces for other supported systems such as CD1, CD2, TITAN, and Intel Apps and other Army, Joint, Interagency, and Multinational requirements.

  • Supports and clarifies interoperability certification requirements (for example Army Interoperability Certification), and finalize agreements related to interoperability testing with the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).

  • Maintain and enhances the PM IS&A Application Programing Interface (API). The API will be used for “intera” operability across the IS&A portfolio. Manage an Engineering Review Board process to manage configuration management and proposed enhancements to the PM IS&A API.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, System, Software or Computer Engineering; Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.

  • At least ten (10) years of direct experience performing installation, configuration and troubleshooting of information technology systems is required.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical skills.

  • Experience administering (installing, configuring and troubleshooting) systems running in Windows, Linux and VMWare environments.

  • Experience in the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission area.

  • Experience with the use and testing of ISR software systems.

  • Must have an active TS/SCI level security clearance.

Travel:

Less than 10% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.
