Amentum Cross Domain Security Solutions Specialist in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Amentum is seeking a Cross Domain Security Solutions Specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to serve as installation team site lead and facilitate the upgrade/ installation of Cross Domain Security Solutions (CDSS) in support of our customer Project Manager Intelligent Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A)

This position is contingent upon award.

Duties:

  • Act as the Site Lead and Program Manager’s (PM) representative for the upgrade of cross domain solutions at unit locations.

  • Participate in any installation, test, and / or upgrade events as coordinated by the PL and IAW the CDS installation schedule.

  • Support the planning, integration and implementation of cross-domain solutions (CDS) in all IS&A products. This includes securing and accrediting CDS’ as well as assisting in the design of new capabilities or enhancements to existing fielded equipment.

  • Manage the PM team and coordination while on site with the unit.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Unit leadership on the ground.

  • Guide and direct the upgrade process, ensuring milestones are met.

  • Conduct a daily Hotwash with all involved during the upgrade process.

  • Provide routine feedback in a Daily Activity Report (DAR).

  • Conduct prior planning and coordinate all upgrade activities; work closely with the Fielding coordinator(s) to ensure all necessary preparations and coordination efforts have been accomplished.

  • Responsible for conducting site surveys and determining unit readiness for the upgrade.

  • Support CDS installations/test efforts to include software installations, security accreditation events, and/or CDS exercise events.

  • Conduct the hardware inventory and prepare necessary paperwork for transfer.

  • Anticipate and provide solutions for any challenges that arise in the upgrade process.

  • Verify that all necessary personnel, SW and HW resources are in place to support each CDS installation; confirm all personnel are ready for travel and visit access requests (VARs) have been submitted.

  • Notify PM Leadership of any showstoppers with recommended way forward.

  • Provide support to the installation engineers, security team, and IFS engineers ensuring that any problems encountered are addressed as necessary to ensure a successful event.

  • Assist and support the final After Action Review (AAR) with the PM and Unit.

  • Support all APG events to verify all lessons learned are incorporated into the installation and test documentation.

  • Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on a regular basis.

  • Working knowledge of CDSS implementations and capabilities.

  • Coordinate with PM Personnel at field office locations to ensure proper support is being provided.

  • Brief leadership and stakeholders on, plan of action, path forward and challenges and concerns during the upgrade.

  • Integrated Logistics Support Manager (ILSM) duties and responsibilities when in Garrison augmenting current ILSM staff members.

  • Responsible for planning, developing and executing program logistics activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product.

  • Developing and implementing logistics program activities including Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), technical documentation, Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (RAM), provisioning, etc.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Direct experience with coordination of subcontractors and field service personnel to achieve objectives, (e.g. logistics problem resolutions, compilation of data on standardization, and experience with interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities).

  • Direct experience coordinating with user units, CDS engineers, Security teams, and unit maintainers, to support the installation and testing of the Tactical CDSS.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Point.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret with SCI. Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret with SCI clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of related work experience required.

  • Sixteen (16) years logistics experience or a certified Professional Logistician (CPL) certificate with (12) years related experience may substitute education.

Travel:

As much as 50 % travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands of this position include ability to:

  • Be independently mobile.

  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.

  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.

  • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.

  • Lift/push/pull objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.
