TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

The Technical Specialist will provide SETA support to Tactical Networks at APG. This position will be hybrid (3 days per week on site/2 days per week telework).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and update documents for signatures, staffing, and acceptance of various fielding information:

  • Materiel Fielding Plan (MFP). Detailed plans and actions the MATDEV and GC will accomplish to successfully field and deploy a materiel system, to include training and personnel. Much of the data in the MFP originates in Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP), Capability Development Document (CDD), and Basis of Issue Plan (BOIP).

  • Memorandum of Notification (MON). Serves as the initial notification to the gaining command of the intent to field the new equipment. Outlines the processes to be followed, responsibilities, points of contact, and other general information. Usually provided to the gaining command approximately 2 years prior to fielding.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams t o coordinate activities between fielding managers, ILS managers, production, training, and engineers:

  • Basis of Issue Plan (BOIP) understanding the Army requirements document and the military occupational specialty (MOS) needed to operate and maintain the equipment.

  • New Materiel Introductory Brief (NMIB) understanding the fielding schedule. Conducted for the gaining command anywhere from 180 to 90 days prior to fielding.

  • Decision Support Tool (DST) vet proposed sourcing decisions (PSDs) to support equipment distribution and redistribution. Enables asset visibility based in current and future approved modification tables of organization and equipment (MTOEs).

  • Force Management System (FMS) Web compares and save unit MTOEs to support modernization efforts.

  • Warfighter Information Support Exchange (WISE) research hand receipts, smart books, technical manuals, and training materials to support users and modernization efforts.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE

    Active DoD Secret clearance required
